We welcome back the exceptional talents of dnb production duo Battery to Dispatch for the next edition of the Dispatch Limited series.

This release sees Battery demonstrate the best of the two very contrasting styles of drum & bass that they are known for – the aggressive growl of ‘Cells’ and the rolling, liquid sounds of ‘While We Play’ reminiscent of the musical output under their previous guise as Craggz and Parallel Forces.

‘Cells’ twists around an eerie Bladerunner vocal sample, layered with a progressive, ever building bassline – sampled and fed through vintage analogue gear to create that textural grit and snarl that drives the track onwards.

The infectious groove of ‘While We Play’ takes its lead from the funk heavy drums and looping vocal edits, a sound familiar to fans of their older style but with a much welcome Battery update.
